Charles Franklin Terry, 85, of Brandon, Mississippi, died on Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, at his daughter’s home in rural Mechanicsville. A visitation will be held from 10 to11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 13, at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 13, at Bentley Funeral Home. Charles was born in Charleston, West Virginia on Feb. 15, 1935, the son of H.G. and Opal (Beard) Terry. He graduated from St. Albans High School in West Virginia. He later graduated from West Virginia Tech and then proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. He married Patricia A. Taylor on April 15, 1960 in Chicago.

Charles was a salesman for DuPont de Nemours, Inc. for 35 years. In his younger years, Charles enjoyed coaching his children in baseball and softball. He was a member of the Elk’s Club and loved playing golf, earning a total of three “hole in Ones.” He treasured his annual trips with his family to Destin, Florida. Charles also enjoyed watching West Virginia football and basketball, and betting on horse and dog racing.

Charles will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Pat; three children, Greg Terry of Brandon, Mississippi, Alan Terry of Brandon, Mississippi, and Krissy Kleppe of Mechanicsville; four grandsons, Andrew and Kevin Terry and King and Prince Kleppe; one brother, Tom (Faith) Terry; and one sister, Jean Hunt.

Charles was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Carl A. Kleppe, Jr.; one brother, Bob Terry; and one sister, Virginia Banister.
