Chantz was born in Clinton on Dec. 23, 2000, the son of Andy and Tiffany (Tracy) Stevens. He graduated from Wilton High School with the class of 2019. He was working toward becoming a lineman and ultimately wanted to be a teacher and a coach.

He was attending Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa. While in high school, Chantz played as a receiver for the Wilton Beavers football team and was an All-State second baseman for their baseball team. He also participated in wrestling, track and golf. Chantz loved the outdoors, especially swimming, canoeing, tubing, playing bags and horseback riding. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, and an Iowa Hawkeye fan. Chantz was up for anything fun, always with a smile on his face. Most of all, Chantz loved spending time with his family and friends.

Chantz will be dearly missed by his parents, Andy and Tiffany Stevens of Wilton; a sister, Ryleigh Stevens of Wilton; his maternal grandfather, Bob Tracy; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Robert (Mary Ann) Tracy; and his maternal and paternal grandmothers, Linda Tracy and Diana Stevens.
