Mel Norton turns 90 May 28

Mel Norton of Wilton will be honored with an open house for his 90th Birth- day on May 28, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the home of Mike & Susan Norton. All friends and relatives are invited. Re- quest is made for cards only, no gifts.

Mel was born May 28, 1932 at home in Wilton to Griff & Lela (Whitmer) Nor- ton. He graduated from Wilton High School in 1949 and married Mary Sor- genfrey on January 12, 1953.

They have three children: Michael (Susan) Norton, Jane (Brad) Garrett, both of Wilton; and Pam (Tim) Buchan- an of Elbert, Colorado.

Grandchildren are Eric Norton, Jen- nifer (Steve) Glover, Ryan (Joelle) Bu- chanan, Deawn (Ippei) Takahashi, Mol- ly (Brad Cerny) Garrett, Ben (Evelyn) Garrett. They have twelve great grand- children.

Mel is a life member of First Presbyterian, singing in the choir for over 50 years. He worked for The Standard Oil CO., Excel Industries and HON Industries.

He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He enjoys working with puzzles and spending time with friends and family.
