Luethye to celebrate 80th birthday

Kathy (Windman) Luethye of Davenport will be honored with a card shower on her 80th birthday due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kathy was born on June 25, 1941 in Muscatine, and graduated from Muscatine High School in 1959. Directly following, she attended the 2-year program at St Luke’s School in Davenport and became a registered nurse.

On June 8, 1963 she married Cliff Luethye at Spangler Chapel in Muscatine. Over the years, Mrs. Luethye worked at a nursing home in Wilton, was an RN at St. Luke’s Hospital in Davenport, was a stay-at-home mom for many years, and worked part-time as a secretary at the United Methodist Church in Wilton.

Over the years she enjoyed reading as a part of a book club, playing cards, baking, gardening and tending to flowers. She was a flower show judge, and loved to play the piano/organ for the United Methodist Church of Wilton and Durant. She also volunteered at the school, church and community with the Servant’s Heart organization.

Her children are Lisa (Harvey) Locoh of West Des Moines and Laura Luethye of Durant. She has two grandchildren.
