Linda Nickler

Linda F. Nickler, age 71, of Wilton, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024, at her home.  Cremation Rites have been accorded.  A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at LIFEchurch, Wilton.  A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 p.m., following the service at the church.  Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.

Linda was born on Feb. 21, 1953, a daughter of Clifton and Mildred (Glover) Sweeney in Covington, Tenn.  She married David Nickler on April 10, 1995, in Julian, Calif.  David passed away on Feb. 2, 2016.

Linda dedicated many years to the Poway High School cafeteria in Poway, Calif., where she was a beloved member of the school community until her retirement in 1995. Her warm smile and caring nature made her a fixture in the cafeteria.  In 2000, Linda moved to Muscatine to be closer to her family.  After retiring, she found joy in a second chapter of her life working for 10 years in the produce department at the Muscatine Walmart.  

Linda and her husband, David, were avid motorcyclists, embracing the freedom of the open road. She also had a passion for antiquing, often spending time hunting for unique treasures. A talented seamstress, Linda enjoyed creating Halloween costumes for her grandchildren, making each year a special one. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed crafting, always working on new projects that brought beauty and joy to her life and the lives of those around her.

Linda will be dearly missed by her three children, Shane (Virginia) Campbell of Wilton, Tiffany (Robin) Henderson of Santa Maria, Calif., and Kerry (David) Clark of Wilton; five grandchildren, Michael Kilmer, Byron (Abby) Campbell, Gannon Clark, Daryn Clark and Jessica Clark; two great-granddaughters, Satele and Zannah Campbell; three brothers, Claude Sweeney, Ricky Sweeney, and Bruce Sweeney; and one sister, Shela Pinner.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, David; two brothers, Mark and Tim Sweeney; and one sister, Monette Sweeney.
