Kevin D. Stammer, age 67, of Wilton, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.
Kevin was born on Aug. 31, 1957, the son of Richard and Marilyn (Gochanour) Stammer in Muscatine. He graduated from Durant High School with the Class of 1976. Shortly after graduation, Kevin married Kathea Pool.
Kevin worked as a supervisor for JM Eagle for 46 years, retiring in 2024. A proud member of the Pearl City Buckskinners, Kevin embraced the spirit of early American fur traders. He loved camping, attending Buckskinner Rendezvous, and participating in period-correct reenactments, where he shared his knowledge and appreciation for history.
Beyond his love for historical reenactments, Kevin enjoyed riding his motorcycle, feeling the open road beneath him. However, nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His loyal dog, Missy, was always by his side, a faithful companion through all of life’s adventures. His legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will live on in the memories of those who knew him.
Kevin will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Carrie Stammer and her husband, Owen Lamphier of Wilton; a stepdaughter, Joey (Dave) Merchan of Franklin, Wis.; seven grandchildren; and three brothers, Jerry (Dianna) Stammer, Clay Stammer, and Todd (Stephanie) Stammer.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marilyn; and one son, Jesse Stammer.
