J. Curtis and Frances Forest scholarships available to Cedar County students

Posted

Application packets for the Cedar County Historical Society J. Curtis and Frances Forest Frymoyer scholarship have been sent to area high schools.

Residents of Cedar County enrolling in a university, college, community college or technical college are encouraged to apply also. The scholarship, which was created in 2001, is a way for the society to show a belief in the youth and future of the county.

Multiple scholarships up to $1,000 will be awarded, and pictures of our students will be published in the annual Cedar County Historical Review.

Any Cedar County student (high school/graduate) applying or enrolled in a university, college, community college or technical college are encouraged to apply. Non-winners from previous years may reapply as well. Students must complete the scholarship application, including an essay on their Cedar County heritage and two references.

The scholarship awards will be paid on Jan. 1, 2022, after a successful first semester and enrollment for a second semester. This must be documented. Applications are due April 1, 2021. Late applications will not be accepted.

For more information, or to pick up a scholarship packet, please contact the Cedar County Historical Society at 1094 Hwy. 38, Tipton, or call (563)886-2899.
