Going to the dentist in the COVID-19 world has become a new experience for patients around the state of Iowa. Wilton Dental reopened its doors last week, with a myriad of new rules and regulations in order to keep both staff and patients safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Pictured above (from left) are Bailey Countryman, Liz Neff, Stephanie Telsrow, Remy Duncan, Dr. Laura Meincke and Dr. Keith Stanley. According to Dr. Meincke, some of the new rules include taking temperatures of all employees upon arrival; pre-screening patients with COVID-19 questions; locking the office, letting patients in and out; taking temperatures of patients upon arrival; no patients in the waiting area; lab jacket, face mask and shields for team members taking temperatures; PPE during treatment includes a N95 mask, a cover mask over the N95, full face shield and a clean lab coat for each patient, hand hygiene and put on gloves in the patient room just before treatment begins; patients must wear a mask or face covering when entering the office; "After leaving a patient's room we go to the designated areas and remove our face shield, discard the used cover mask and lab coat into the designated bins, disinfect the face shield, cleanse hands, put on a new clean lab coat, put on a clean cover mask, put on the clean face shield and see the next patient. Rinse and repeat," said Meincke. For a complete list, contact your dental provider.
