On the morning of July 5, a fatal one-car crash occurred in Muscatine County. John Hintermeister, 81, of Muscatine, died as a result of an automobile accident in the 2500 block of Pettibone Avenue.
Hintermeister was driving a 2003 Ford Thunderbird when, according to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, his car ran off the roadway while traveling southbound on Pettibone Avenue near 41st Street. The car collided with a pile of rocks according to reports.
According to the report, he was not wearing a seatbelt and died as a result of the crash.
