Reports from the Iowa State Patrol indicated a fatal one-vehicle accident along Interstate 80 in Cedar County May 26.
At just after 9 p.m., a 2015 semi tractor driven by James Feyerherm, 66, of Norfolk, Nebraska was traveling eastbound on I-80 when the driver left the roadway, coming to rest in a tree line on the south side of the road.
Feyerherm was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics by West Liberty Ambulance and was pronounced dead on arrival upon arrival to the hospital, “due to an unknown medical condition pending autopsy,” according to the report.
The accident remains under investigation.
