Evelyn Jewett will be celebrating her 100th birthday on July 28. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, she will be spending the day with only her family.
Evelyn was born July 28, 1920 in her parents' Sweetland farm house in Muscatine County. She attended Sweetland Center School through the eighth grade. She lived most of her life on a farm in Pleasant Prairie, Iowa.
On April 25, 1945, she married Leroy Jewett at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Muscatine.
Her children are Joann Martin, Nancy Guy, Rose (Rick) Buster, all of Muscatine, Janice (Cary) Rutt, of Columbus Junction, Barb (Steve) Howard, Laurie (Ron) Danner, of Illinois City, Illinois, and Connie (Stephen) Dore, of Ft. Worth, Texas.
