State Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald is reminding residents in Muscatine and Cedar counties there are only a few days left to register for the 2021 529 Day Giveaway. “With 529 Day fast approaching on May 29, I want to reach as many Iowans as possible to spread the word about saving for education,” said Fitzgerald. “To celebrate 529 Day, one Iowan will receive the grand prize of a $1,529 College Savings Iowa contribution while each of Iowa’s 99 counties will have a $529 contribution winner.” Visit Iowa529Contest.com to read the official rules and register for their chance to win before May 31.

Celebrated on May 29, 529 Day is a national initiative to help spread awareness about 529 plans, such as the College Savings Iowa 529 plan. “The 529 Day giveaway is a great way to help boost education savings for 100 families around the state and to help spread the word about how a College Savings Iowa account can benefit you and your future scholars,” Fitzgerald said. “I’m encouraging all Iowans to register for the giveaway before May 31 and start or boost your education savings journey.”
