Eleanor M. Lilienthal, 98, of New Liberty, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025.
Funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. at Runge Mortuary. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Burial took place at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. She was born Nov. 3, 1926, in Cedar County to Jens and Elsie Petersen Glaser. She graduated from Durant High School and the American Institute of Commerce. She worked for Royal Typewriter in Davenport prior to farming with her husbands. She married Cecil Schnack on June 20, 1948. He died on March 19, 1958. She then married Earl Lilienthal on May 28, 1960. He passed away on June 13, 2012.
She enjoyed dancing, gardening, animals, counted cross stitch, painting, and traveling. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bennett. She looked forward to spending time with family and lunch with good friends.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Ron Schnack of Davenport, Denise (Jim) Petz of Blue Grass, Randy (Jean) Schnack of Rockford, Ill., and Kevin Lilienthal of New Liberty; sisters-in-law, Marian Lilienthal of Davenport and Elaine “Skip” Sorgenfrey of Durant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Edie Schnack; brother, Arnold Glaser; and sister, Velma Untiedt.
