Durant school to provide summer meals

Posted

The USDA has issued nationwide waivers which allow school districts and community organizations to utilize flexibilities around site locations, non-congregate feeding, parent and guardian pick-up, and meal times in the 2021 operation of the Summer Food Service Program.

Durant Community School District is participating in the USDA Summer Food Service Program during this time, which will allow for a safe and streamlined service of nutritious meals. Meals will be provided to all children without charge.

Free meals will be provided at the sites and times as follows: Tuesdays starting June 1 — noon to 12:30 p.m. meal pickup in bus alley (east of Durant High School building). Each pickup will contain 5 days breakfast and 5 days of lunch items.
