Driver apprehended after fleeing from officers on Highway 61

Editor’s note: On Sept. 14, the Advocate News and Index received the following from the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office:
On Sept. 13, at approximately 2032 hours, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle south on Highway 61 near Taylor Avenue for speed of 87 mph in a 65 mph zone. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit followed.
Stops sticks were deployed on Highway 61 just south of Walmart. The sticks were effective and began to deflate a front tire that eventually fell off. The vehicle entered the ditch on Highway 61 between Bidwell and Tipton Road.
The male driver and sole occupant fled from the vehicle and entered the tree line. The vehicle returned stolen out of Oak Lawn PD in Illinois. The male subject was apprehended a short time later and identified as Keshawn D. Hill, 22, of Chicago, Illinois. He was charged with possession of controlled substance, interference, felony eluding and theft in the first degree.
