I was excited to hear the news that Lonny Pulkrabek is running for state representative in House District 73. As Johnson County Sheriff for 15 years, his leadership experience will be especially valuable to rural Iowans. His 35 years in law enforcement has given him a chance to view the effects of legislation on the average Iowan as few have ever been able to.
While our country is reeling from a global pandemic, and our state and national governments are struggling to find the way forward, we need intelligent, calm leadership in government who can develop a plan of action and stick with it. Lonny’s experience in public safety will be a tremendous asset.
HD 73 is lucky to have a person with these qualities running for the state house. Lonny Pulkrabek’s leadership is sorely needed in Des Moines next year.
