Dick Dittmer to be honored at 90 birthday open house

Dick Dittmer of Camanche, formerly of Durant, will be honored with an open house on Sunday, Aug. 3, to celebrate his 90th birthday. Friends and family are welcome to join him from noon – 4 p.m. at the main shelter at JC Park in Durant, where a luncheon will be provided. No gifts, please, but cards may be sent to Dick in care of Tracey Hansen, 1071 Taylor Ave., Wilton, IA 52778.

Mr. Dittmer was born Aug. 3, 1935, in Davenport. He and his late wife, Betty, were married in June of 1958 in Walcott.

He was employed by Farm Service in Walcott for 31 years, and by Liqui-Grow in Walcott for 16 years.

He was a member of the Durant Fire Department for 16 years and enjoys bowling.

His children are Tracey (Craig) Hansen of Wilton, Rick (Rhonda) Dittmer of West Liberty, and the late Lisa (Kenny) McCallister. He has 11 grandchildren and bonus grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and bonus great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He is also celebrated by his significant other, Barb Krick.
