Community Continuity Grants help several area organizations

The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine recently increased its matching Community Continuity Grant funding to $100,000 to meet the growing level of needs in the surrounding area.

Following are organizations that the foundation has awarded money to help meet the immediate needs in Muscatine County:

* Trinity Muscatine Hospital Foundation – protective equipment and supplies.

* Pearl City Outreach – food supplies.

* Wilton Community School District – assistance feeding students and help providing Internet access.

* Senior Resources – protective equipment and staff support.

* West Liberty Early Learning Center – day care cleaning supplies.

* Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates (iJAG) – support local outreach to at-risk high school students.

* Trinity Muscatine Public Health – supplies for COVID-19 positive patients and their families.

* Muscatine Center for Social Action (MCSA) – food for the pantry.

* Iowa Legal Aid – remote technology support.

* Salvation Army Muscatine – food for pantry and assistance (2 grants).

* Aligned Impact Muscatine (AIM) – supplies for Community Cleaning Supply and Hygiene Closet.

* Lutheran Services Iowa (LSI) – telehealth, virtual home visitation facilitation

Family Resources, Inc. – telehealth and related services.

* Muscatine Diaper Bank – purchase diapers.

* Wilton Retirement Community – offset costs of the expanded equipment and supply needs related to COVID containment efforts.

* West Liberty Area Ministerial Association – Assist families with rent, utilities, gasoline vouchers, car repairs, medicine, etc.

* West Liberty Food Bank – Increased need for food supplementation for current enrollees and for new families.
