Ruby Kappeler awarded
Shrope Scholarship
Coe College has awarded Ruby Kappeler of Muscatine a William E. Shrope Scholarship for the 2020-21 academic year. Kappeler, the daughter of Jeffrey Kappeler and Jennifer Kappeler, is a 2019 graduate of Durant High School.
Shrope Scholarships are given annually to Coe students of high academic standing ranging in amounts of $1,000 and higher. Shrope was a resident of Cedar County.
Kappeler is currently a sophomore studying communication studies at Coe.
Abbigail Eicher to perform
in ‘Christmas Candlelight’
Abbigail Eicher of Bennett is one of 63 Central College students performing in the 46th annual Christmas Candlelight Concert, which will premier at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11. The event is pre-recorded and available for free at central.edu/candlelight.
The A Cappella Choir, Chambers Singers and Handbell Choir will come together for one of the college’s most cherished traditions. This year’s theme is “Peace on Earth.”
