Commander Roger Bender called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. with seven members and one guest present. The group recited the Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting minutes from October were read and approved.

Gordon Arnold gave the financial report. The Legion’s rib dinner last month was a great success; thanks for everyone’s participation and support. We will continue coordinating with the high school for Boys State next year. We are planning to have a potluck for Veterans Day on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. for Wilton Legion and Wilton Auxiliary members and family; the Legion will provide meat, drinks and rolls; please bring a dish to share and your own table service.

There was some discussion on the replacement of the front door. A motion carried to donate funds to the veterans outreach called “Healing at English River.” It was reported that the Freedom Rock committee is trying to expand the paver area, but needs to sell 100 more bricks to do so. A motion carried to donate funds to the Wilton Food Pantry.

Reminder that the veterans’ crisis hotline phone number is 1-800-273-8255. The Legion meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Legion Hall, 201 E. Railroad St., across from the Depot.
