The Cedar County Recorder’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 22 to accommodate customers that have been unable to come into the office during regular business hours. Please use the handicap accessible entrance located on the Southeast side of the building after 4 p.m. (this is the only door on the building that will be unlocked after hours).

The office will be accepting passport applications from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Passport appointments during regular business hours require an appointment. Currently processing times for routine service for a new or renewed passport are 10-12 weeks. Additional fees can expedite the application. Expedited passports applicants can expect to receive their passport in 4-6 weeks.

Other services include helping customers with all DNR transactions, applications for Iowa Vital Record certified copies (Birth, Death and Marriage) and Marriage License applications.

Real estate documents can be reviewed but documents presented after 3:30 p.m. will be recorded on the next business day during normal business hours, in the order received.

Please call the office at 563-886-2230 to set up a passport appointment or with questions.
