Advocate News Football Contest Norton, Rocycki tie in week seven

Posted

Editor’s note: Last week’s football contest story contained the wrong headline. The winner in week 6 was Dave Fratzke of Wilton. Week 7 saw strong predictions from contestants, with the tie-breaker being the deciding factor on who was going to be “in the money.”

The tie-breaker score was 42, the total number of points in Sigourney-Keota’s 34-8 win over Durant.

Griff Norton and Waynette Rocycki will share first place this week, each missing two games and guessing 43 for the tie-breaker. They will each receive $20.

Tony Dickens of Wilton won third place and $10 this week, missing two games and having a tie-breaker prediction of 39.

This week’s scores included: Sigourney-Keota 34, Durant 8; West Branch 35, Cardinal, Eldon 6; Pella Christian 42, Mediapolis 21; Waukon 38, West Liberty 24; Mid-Prairie 35, Northeast 28; Camanche 35, Dubuque Wahlert 20; Wisconsin 30, Purdue 13; Iowa State 24, Oklahoma State 21; Oregon 34, UCLA 31; Ole Miss 31, LSU 17; Notre Dame 31, USC 16; Pittsburgh 27, Clemson 17; San Diego State 20, Air Force 14.
