A truck fire off the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 at Walcott shut down the interestate as firefighters and police from the region responded.
The fire shut down eastbound lanes, and backed up westbound traffic. A black smoke plume could be seen from Interstate 280.
Truck driver Steven Marcoccia was among dozens of drivers stuck at truckstops just east of the accident. His video shows flames and smoke billowing above cornfields.
