Stay connected with the library

Posted

While the Scott County Libraries are closed and Bookmobile service is suspended, the library staff is continuing to work to provide you with library services.

Online programming is available via the library's Facebook page with videos of staff members providing story times, helpful tutorials, and more.

Here are some other ways to keep connected with the library:

Entertainment: The library website offers a wide selection of online services such as eBooks, digital magazines, and streaming music.  Click on Go Digital for access to Overdrive ebooks, Tumblebooks for kids, RB Digital magazines, Freegal music, and Transparent Language Learning.

Education: The website also includes a large selection of research sites and databases to aid with learning.  They are listed in the Research Tools section of our website.  Students can find Credo Reference books, World Book Online, World Food, and World Travel, among many others.

Genealogy:  A Scott County Cemetery search is available on the Local History Resources page.  The library also provide access to Heritage Quest Online, a collection of census records and related resources.

For a limited time, Ancestry is allowing our patrons to access their database of records from home.  To access, you must log in to our library catalog and search “temporary remote ancestry.”

History: Our website contains a section for Local History Resources with links to search The North Scott Press, North Scott Yearbooks, and Morning Stars.  A collection of historical photos and oral histories from the Scott County Community Memory Project is newly available.

Please visit the library's website or social media pages to keep updated on what staff members are doing to help you stay connected with your library.
