Pick your Scott County Supervisor: Candidate profiles

Four candidates are running for two open seats on the Scott County Board of Supervisors.

Supervisors oversee a budget of $95.67 million that covers sheriff and jail operations, rural road maintenance, most court facilities, mental health, property tax collections, county parks and other county duties.

GOP incumbent Ken Beck is seeking his second term.

GOP incumbent Tony Knobbe is the county board chair. He is seeking a second term.

DEM challenger Jazmin Newton, an attorney with her own private practice, and statewide LULAC organizer. This is her first run for elected office.

DEM challenger Rev. Rodgers Kirk is pastor at Davenport's Third Missionary Baptist Church. he is making his second run for supervisor.
