Timothy “Tim” P. McCann, 63, of Park View, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport. Cremation rites were accorded. Tim was a generous and humble guy that wanted no fanfare. Per his wishes, no formal services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com.

Tim was born Feb. 16, 1957, to Patrick and Marie (Schauff) McCann. He grew up and attended high school in Cassville, Wis. Following high school, Tim briefly attended a trade school before relocating to Davenport, where he spent his career working at John Deere Davenport Works for 31 years. On Nov. 23, 2002, he was united in marriage to Christine Sikkema at Olde St. Ann’s Church in Long Grove. During retirement, Tim enjoyed working as a driver for Lindquist Ford over the past 12 years. He had a passion for officiating boys’ basketball and had done so for over 20 years, including the Iowa State Basketball Tournament. In his free time, Tim loved helping on his in-laws’ vegetable farm, tending to his flowers, and attending his grandchildren’s recreational events.

Tim will be missed by his wife, Christine; daughters: Teresa McCann of Cedar Lake, Ind., and Katie (Clint) Albrecht of LeClaire; his grandchildren: Hunter, Hudson, Colin, Kamryn, and Kinley; a brother, Larry; a sister, Sue; parents-in-law: Lenny and Viola Sikkema of Fulton, Ill.; and his favorite neighbor, Ida Winckler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Marie McCann.

In honor of Tim’s generous spirit, please do something kind for someone today.
