Sue Ann Bader, 92, of Eldridge passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, at Grand Haven, Eldridge. The family will greet friends on Friday, Nov. 29, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge. A private family service will be held at a later time. Inurnment will take place at Walcott Cemetery at a later date.
Sue Ann Elmegreen was born on Jan. 11, 1932, in LeClaire, the daughter of Arthur and Berniel (Baughman) Elmegreen. Sue graduated from Davenport High School in 1949. She married James A. Bader on Aug. 12, 1949, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He preceded her in death in February 1996. The wedding consisted of two attendents, Gene Newell and his then girlfriend Shirley. Sue and Jim started Bader Trucking milk hauling in 1953, where Sue also received hauler and sampler training. In 1972, they went on to establish Bader Farms, the largest horse farm in Iowa.
Survivors include her sons, Gary Bader of Eldridge, Mark Bader of Tulsa, Okla., Jay Bader of Eldridge, Lance (Sue) Bader of Eldridge, 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, brothers, Jerry Elmegreen and Ronnie Elmegreem, both of Monmouth, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James, her son, Rick, daughters-in-law, Sue #1, Sue #2 and a brother, Paul Elmegreen
