Steven Ray Fredericksen, 80, died Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at his home. Private family burial was held in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Weerts Funeral Home Davenport, assisted the family with arrangements.

Steven Fredericksen was born Oct. 27, 1939, in Davenport, the son of Jens “Fred” and Beatrice (Egger) Fredericksen.

He married Kathleen Oliver on June 24, 1960, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport.

At the age of 16, he designed Slavens Manor on Kimberly Road in Davenport, winning the National Model Home Contest as a senior at Davenport High School. He later worked for Lundeen and Toline Architects, and later worked for his dad at Town & Country Lumber Co., drawing and designing homes. In 1984, he stated working for Eldridge Coop as manager and shortly after opened Country Cupboards Inc. In 1994, he bought the business and changed the name to Eldridge Lumberyard. He helped develop the Pleasant Harbor and Century Oaks subdivisions in Bettendorf.

He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island.

His hobbies were spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Kari (Rod Collins), David (Jennifer), and Douglas (Rose); his grandchildren, Amy Collins, Kristi (Adam) Chard, Emily (Kraig) Liske, Claire (Tyler) Solis, Abigail Kelly, Matthew, Kathryn and Mary; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Julie Klindt.
