Sharon Kay (Fox) Hundley, 76, of Camanche, passed away Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. Sharon inspired many by her fearless battle against cancer, infectious smile, and relentlessly positive attitude.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Camanche. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at the church. Sharon will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Camanche. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. A luncheon will be served at the church following the burial. All are welcome to attend. Sharon Hundley was born on Feb. 21, 1945, in Stanley, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy Fox. Her siblings are Duane (Tacy) Fox and Shirley Layton. Sharon married Robert Hundley, her high school sweetheart, on Aug. 14, 1963. They have three kids, Bob Hundley, Chris Hundley, and Paula (Hundley) Stutting.
Sharon was a 1962 graduate of Oelwein High School in Oelwein, Iowa. She worked as a secretary/receptionist for KCLN, Clinton Electric Motors and then for The Insurance Group, from which she retired in 2009. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and loved Jesus. Sharon had a passion for flowers (roses were her favorite), animals (especially adorable stuffed ones), dancing, boating on the Mississippi, camping, and most of all – spending time with her husband, kids, and grandkids. Sharon had a remarkable ability to bring out the best in those around her with her gentle heart and kind smile. She could also make anyone laugh, whether she meant to or not! Sharon would want you to think of her every time you see a beautiful sunset – her favorite part of God’s creation.
Sharon is survived by her husband: Bob Hundley Sr. of Camanche; their children: Bob (Deidra) Hundley, Chris (Susanne Owen) Hundley, and Paula (Kevin) Stutting; 10 grandchildren: Daniel (Halle) Stutting, Allie (Andrew) Boge, Dylan Hundley, Benjamin Stutting, Jacob (Abby Holtz) Hundley, Grace Stutting, Bridgette Hundley, Timothy Stutting, Emily Stutting and Bobby Hundley; her first great-grandchild: Lennyn Sky Stutting; and her siblings: Duane (Tacy) Fox and Shirley Layton. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and one infant sister: Betty Jean.
Memorials may be made to the Clinton Humane Society or the Clinton Arboretum.
