Obituary: Sandra Charlan

Sandra F. Charlan, 81, of Davenport, passed away Friday, Aug. 13, 2021. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation was held on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the mortuary. She was laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials in her honor may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Sandra was born on Oct. 5, 1939, to William and Ada (Kelling) Johnson in Davenport. In 1979, Sandy married William Charlan. She was an extremely hard worker with an outstanding work ethic. 

Sandy was always busy doing something. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, lawn care, spending time with family, and her card club.

Sandy is survived by her daughter, Becky (Steve) Hainstock of Lost Nation; son, Joey of Mt. Joy; step-children, Tammi DuPuis, Hillsboro, Mo., and Herb Charlan, Fitchburg, Wis.; grandchildren: Josh, Jeff, Jay, Matt, Amy, Alex, Luke, and Autumn; great-grandchildren, Kailah, Laila, and Magnolia; and siblings, Glen Johnson, Ron Johnson, and Shirley Hanson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, William Charlan; brother, Wesley Johnson; son, Doug Andrews; daughter, Tanya Andrews; and special friend, George Hayes.
