Obituary: Sandra Bjurstrom

Sandra K. Bjurstrom, 67, of Long Grove, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Private family services will be held, with interment at the Maysville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Courageous.  In honor of Sandra and her battle with leukemia, the family encourages you to donate blood at ImpactLife.  Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.

Sandra was born in Davenport on March 22, 1955, to Ralph and Nadine (Meewes) Golinghorst.  She graduated from North Scott High School in 1973.  Sandra married Michael A. Bjurstrom on May 9, 1981, in Davenport.

Sandra was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport.  She valued her friendships and always looked forward to their monthly get-togethers.  Sandra had an empathetic spirit and volunteered with many organizations and community events.  She enjoyed music, traveling and shopping.  Her family was extremely important to her, and above all, she loved being a grandma.

Sandra is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Michael of Long Grove; son Brian Bjurstrom of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter Laura (Nathan) Roling of Indianola; granddaughter Emma Kay Roling; sister Nancy (Doug) Kelting of Wheatland; brothers: David (Linda) Golinghorst of Dixon, and Dennis (Pam) Golinghorst of Walcott; sister-in-law Debbie Wright of Silvis, Ill.; and nieces and nephews:  Dexter, Derek, Dylan, Drake, Matt, Alex, Brett, Troy, Kelli, Kerri, Lucas, Sheila and Josh.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
