Dick was born the son of Alvin and Bernice (Peters) Puls on Nov. 3, 1935. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957.  He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sally Wiese, on Sept. 12, 1959, in Davenport.

He was a hard worker and a perfectionist.  He enjoyed taking care of his cars, house, and yard.  He loved dancing with his wife, watching NASCAR, listening to country music, telling jokes, and talking to people.

Those missing him dearly include, his loving wife of 60 years, Sally, “my gal Sal”; children, Sue (John) Strazewski, Steve (Georgia) Puls, Tim (Kim) Puls, and Tami Rowley; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Linda (Jerry) Wilson; one nephew and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Edwin Johannsen.

A special thanks to the Good Samaritan Society and Genesis Hospice for their compassionate care.
