Richard V. Moeller, 68, of Davenport passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at his home.  Cremation will be done, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.  Please share online condolences at www.rungemortuary.com.

Richard was born July 16, 1953, to Victor R. and Jean M. (Schaefer) Moeller in Davenport.  He was united in marriage to Michelle Monson on Jan. 21, 1978, in Bettendorf. Richard’s passion was farming, gardening, caring for animals, and being a part of the farming community, which he did his entire life. He also worked as a purchasing manager, first for 30 years with Compacker and then seven years with RA Jones before retiring in July of 2021.

Earlier in life he had been an accomplished baseball pitcher, having played for the QC Braves at John O’Donnell Stadium.  With a strong sports background, he coached his children’s baseball and softball teams and never missed any of their events.  He was a very dedicated husband, father, and friend.  He loved being able to provide whatever his family or neighbors needed — it was his passion to make sure everyone in his life was happy and cherished. The home and farm he built with his wife was a home for many, filled with memories of children at play and neighbors sitting around a fire after the end of a day’s work.  His smile, humor, and gentle heart will be forever missed.

Survivors include his wife Michelle Moeller, Davenport; daughter Denise (Christopher) Serrono, Davenport; son Alex Moeller, Richmond, Va.; grandchildren Gabriella Serrono, Laila, Skyler, and Nola Moeller; two sisters, Janet (Doug) Bleitz, Bettendorf, Mary (Gaylord) Hauschildt, Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
