Obituary: Randall Siemsen

Randall H. Siemsen, 75, of Long Grove, passed away on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at the Fountains in Bettendorf.

His visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge.  Funeral Services and Mass of Christian Burial were private at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Long Grove, where he was a member, and burial followed in St. Ann’s Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

Randy was born July 31, 1946, in Davenport, the son of Henry and Eleanor (Lembke) Siemsen.  A graduate of North Scott High School, he had served in the United States Army Reserves.  He received his bachelor of business administration and his master of arts degree in marketing from the University of Iowa.

Randy was united in marriage to Patricia Wulf on June 8, 1968, in Eldridge.  They were blessed with three daughters, Jennifer, Sarah and Erin. 

Randy joined McGladrey, Hansen & Dunn in 1974. In 1987, he and another partner started the national consulting group for McGladrey.  The group was responsible for providing consulting services to McGladrey clients on a nationwide basis. Randy retired from RSM McGladrey as Executive Vice President of National Consulting in 2006. 

He was an active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, where he had served on the finance committee for several years. Randy was also on the board of the North Scott Educational Foundation, and he had served with the North Scott Rotary and with the Civil Servant Commission of Scott County.

Randy was a dedicated and passionate Iowa Hawkeye fan.  He was also a true fan of North Scott athletics and the New York Yankees.  A loyal and devoted husband, father and grandfather, Randy greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, and was always ready to show off his great jump shot in the driveway.  Randy remained very active tending to his yard and playing golf for many years. 

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Pat; his daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Wade Lamont of Whitefish Bay, Wis., Sarah and Doug Rothgeb of Mansfield, Texas, and Erin and Troy Verbeckmoes of Eldridge.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dane, Luke, and Olivia Lamont, and Zachary and Lila Verbeckmoes, and his sister, Donna Jensen of Clarence.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Marilyn McCammant and Karen Lumsden, and his brother, Richard Siemsen.
