Natalie G. Amhof, 58, of Long Grove, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at the University of Iowa medical ICU from advanced stage cancer. The visitation will be Friday, July 8, from 4:30-8 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary, followed by a funeral service on Saturday, July 9, at 11 a.m. at Park View Lutheran Church.

Natalie was born on Jan. 4, 1964, in Tokyo, Japan, to Mary and William Vickrey. After moving back to the States, Natalie was very proud to graduate from Davenport West High School with honors. She went on to get her bachelors in nursing from the University of Iowa and received a specialization in wound care from Emory College in Atlanta, Ga. Throughout her time with Genesis Health Care, she worked as a nurse for over 25 years, majority of her time spent in wound care, as well as several years in administrative positions.

Natalie was joined in marriage to David W. Amhof on Sept. 10, 1994, and had two children, Amanda and Faith Amhof. At their home in Long Grove, Natalie spent a lot of her time in her garden and loved to wave and talk to everyone who passed by. When she wasn’t gardening, she was hosting many family events, solving puzzles, watching Law & Order on repeat, Disney pin trading, and taking trips to Disney World and Galena, Ill. Natalie was a very active member of Park View Lutheran Church, working as the treasurer and volunteering for everything she could when she had spare time. Along with the church, she volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Café on Vine, and the Davenport Lutheran Home just to name a few.

Survivors include her husband David Amhof; her daughters Faith Amhof, Moline, and Amanda Amhof, Phoenix Ariz.; her sister, Valerie (Dennis) Ewoldt, Davenport; aunt, Anna Prince, Maxwell Iowa; parents-in-law, Bonnie and Ronald Amhof, Eldridge; and many nieces and nephews.

Natalie was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents Mary and William Vickrey, and two sisters, Erica Vickrey and Diane Cox.

Memorials can be given to the family to be distributed to Natalie’s favorite charities.
