Obituary: Miela Clausssen

Miela Claussen, 54, of McCausland, passed away early Thursday morning, July 7, 2022, at Genesis Medical Center-East, in Davenport.

Miela Lea Davis was born April 2, 1968, to Freddie Fay and Oleta (Rust) Davis, in Moline. She graduated from Davenport West High School in 1986. Miela was united in marriage to Lloyd Claussen on Oct. 3, 1992, at Olde St. Ann’s Church in Walnut Grove Pioneer Village at Scott County Park. The couple resided in McCausland. Miela worked for M.A. Ford in Davenport for many years.

Miela was a longtime member of the McCausland United Methodist Church. She loved working in her garden, her dog Sadie, and being outdoors.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Lloyd and nephew Nikolas; siblings, Steven (Karen) Davis, Shane (Heather) Davis, Monique (Scott) Copen, Laversa (Jim) Carlin, Marlee Davis; a brother-in-law, Jeff Leigh; a sister-in-law, Janet Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Connie Leigh, Lamonta (Jeff) Spranger, and Freddie “Del” Davis Jr.

Visitation was from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, July 11, at the McCausland United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, in the church. Interment followed at McCausland Cemetery.
