Kris James Brotherton, 71, died Thursday, June 23, 2022, in Poplarville, Miss. A memorial service will be held in his honor at 11 a.m. on Sept. 24 at Summit Historical Church, 21932 Utica Ridge Road, Davenport.
Kris was born to Shirley Ann Krambeck and Jess Elwood Brotherton in Rock Island in 1950. He graduated from North Scott High School in 1968.
He enjoyed farming, gardening, reading, and history, especially anything about the Civil War.
Kris loved and cared deeply for his family and friends. He will be remembered and dearly missed.
Kris is survived by his four children, Karen (Glynn) Knight, Kristina (Rick) Turk, Kris James (Annabelle) Brotherton, Jr., and James Kurtis (Tasha) Brotherton; his four sisters, Linda, Roxanne, Holly, and Dawn; and his brother, Matt. He had 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley (Brotherton) Gott in 2022, and his father, Jess Brotherton in 1990.
