Obituary: Kenneth Wendt

Kenneth Harvey Wendt, age 81, of Stockton, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, at his home.  A private family funeral service will be held at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant.  Burial will take place in Dixon Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to the Dixon Fire Department or Wheatland Ambulance in his memory.  Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com. 

Kenny was born on Feb. 8, 1941, the son of Harvey and Laurine (Frick) Wendt.  He attended Bennett High School and graduated with the Class of 1959.  Kenny married Barbara Garlock on July 29, 1961, in Davenport.

Kenny farmed and raised livestock his entire life.  He was a former president of Scott Pork Producers and served as president on the Dixon Memorial Park Board.  Kenny was a former 4-H leader and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and livestock shows. Kenny and his wife, Barb, enjoyed bowling, playing golf, camping, and traveling. 

Kenny will be dearly missed by his wife, Barbara; two sons, David (Kris) Wendt of Bennett, and Michael Wendt of Wheatland; two grandchildren, Kayla (Juan) Batista and Kortney (Alyssa Moeller) Wendt; one great-grandson, Gavin David Batista; one sister, Karen (Dale) Wulf of Walcott.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Keith Wendt.
