Jennifer L. Nims, 50, of Delmar, and formerly of Eldridge, passed away on Sunday morning, July 7, 2024, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at Faith Community Church in Maquoketa. There is no visitation. Burial will be at the Hickory Grove Cemetery, rural Monmouth. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.
Jennifer Lynn Kuhl was born on May 7, 1974, in Davenport, to James and Brenda Lee (Eriksen) Kuhl. She grew up in Eldridge and was a 1993 graduate of North Scott High School. She then attended the American Institute of Commerce (AIC) in Davenport, where she met her future husband, Theodore “Tod” Nims. They were married on Aug. 24, 1996, at the Newcomb Presbyterian Church in Davenport.
While in high school, Jennifer was involved in a work-based learning program earning credits and was employed through St. Ambrose University in the Food Service Department. After attending AIC, she worked for Millward Brown Research Company, and later for APAC Customer Services.
In her earlier years, Jennifer was a member of the Newcomb Presbyterian Church, and later when she moved to Maquoketa, she joined Faith Community Church.
Jennifer had a big heart and was a kind and loving person. She enjoyed coloring, making photo collages, crossword puzzles, and seek and find puzzles.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Theodore “Tod” Nims of Delmar; her father and stepmother, Jim and Barb Kuhl of Eldridge; brother, Douglas Kuhl of Davenport; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, including a special aunt Sharon Eriksen of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her mother Brenda, infant sister Lisa, and her beloved dog MoJo.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Maquoketa Community Cupboard or the Mental Health Foundation (www.mentalhealthfoundation.org)
