Obituary: Jaclynn Snyder

Jaclynn K. “Jackie” Snyder, 73, of Eldridge, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 24, at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge.  Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday (today) at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge.  Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or to the Eldridge Volunteer Fire Department.

Jackie was born Aug. 8, 1947, in Davenport, the daughter of John “Jack” and Norma A. (Karstens) Harms.  She was a graduate of North Scott High School and attended cosmetology school in Davenport.  She was united in marriage to Royce D. Snyder on Sept. 10, 1983, in Bettendorf.  He preceded her in death on June 8, 2000.

Jackie had owned and operated the former CJ’s Family Hair Salon in Eldridge for many years.  She was very active with Faith Lutheran Church and was also an accomplished seamstress.  She adored the company of her grandchildren and was very supportive of them.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Mark Mess of Eldridge; her son and daughter-in-law, Chadd and Tiffiny Knisley of Davenport; her grandchildren, Courtney, Cameron, Mitchell, Marshall and Kendall; her great-grandchildren, Alivia and Jaxson; and her brothers, John Harms Jr. of Eldridge, and Dan (Sue) Harms of Oregon, Wis.

In addition to her husband, Royce, Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; and her granddaughter, Madelyn “Maddie” Mess.
