Obituary: Irma Peitscher

A funeral service for Irma Georgianne Peitscher, 90, of Davenport, was held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation was Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the mortuary. Burial was in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Mrs. Peitscher died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at the Davenport Lutheran Home.

Irma Stoltenberg was born Nov. 12, 1929, in rural Davenport, the daughter of Henry and Stella (Golinghorst) Stoltenberg. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1947.

She married David Peitscher on Aug. 7, 1949, in Davenport. He died in 1993.

She had farmed with her husband.

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Bettendorf and served as secretary on the board for Clarissa C. Cook.

Her hobbies were painting, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Diane (Bert) Lohr, Manitowoc, Wis., Patricia (Tim) Sauer, Blue Grass, Margo Hansen, Clinton, Jill (Kent) Bachus, Wheatland, and Alissa (Jerry) Kiedrowski, Milwaukee, Wis.; a son, Logan (Cheryl) Peitscher, Bennett; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry (Mary) Stoltenberg, Durham, N.C.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Roma Roehs, and a son-in-law, Howard Hansen.
