Inez Lucille Stoltenberg, age 95, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021, at Ridgecrest Retirement Village, Davenport. A visitation was held from 5- 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 6, at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport, with a visitation one hour prior to the mass. Burial took place in Maysville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Victory Foundation or Maysville Fire Department. Inez was born on Aug. 9, 1926, the daughter of Harry and Henrietta (Budelier) Finck, on the family farm in rural Durant. She graduated from Durant High School, Class of 1943. Inez married Irwin Stoltenberg on Feb. 15, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Wilton. Irwin passed away on March 15, 2014.
Inez farmed alongside her husband, Irwin, on their farm near Maysville, until retiring in 1988. She also worked preparing taxes with H&R Block in Davenport for over 25 years. She was a charter member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. She was also a member of Country Gardeners garden club, Brownlie Sodhouse Questers and ASHHS. Inez enjoyed quilting with her quilting group and gardening.
Inez will be dearly missed by her sons, Rick (Pam) of Dixon, and Jerry (Jackie) of Maysville; one daughter, Julie (John) Gill of Davenport; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Ferris of Eldridge; and one sister-in-law, Virginette Finck of Durant.
Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin; one brother, Paul Finck; one sister, Marian Wayland; and two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Wayland and Carl Ferris.
