A funeral service celebrating the life of Edwin C. Geest, 90, of rural Blue Grass, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Blue Grass Presbyterian Church. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial was in the Blue Grass Cemetery. Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Geest died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at his home.
Edwin Geest was born May 27, 1935, on the family farm in Blue Grass, the son of Charles and Clara (Kress) Geest.
He married Katey Sundstrom on June 14, 1969, in Rockford, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Katey; a daughter, Emmie (Michael) Tarpey, Lost Nation; a son, Dieter (Heather) Geest, Blue Grass; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Lois Schurr, LeClaire, and Ruth (Frank) Postma, LeMars.
Memorials may be made to Blue Grass Presbyterian Church or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospitals.
