Obituary: Dennis Mueller

A Celebration of Life Open House for Dennis D. Mueller, 77, of DeWitt, was held from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Hawkeye attire was encouraged.

Mr. Mueller died Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt.

Dennis Mueller was born Nov. 5, 1942, in Garnavillo, Iowa, the son of Harold and Ivanell (Breitspercher) Mueller. He graduated from Garnavillo High School.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He worked for John Deere Davenport Works for 40 years.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt, where he sang in the choir. He was a member of the Donahue Sportsman’s Club, the Donahue Volunteer Fire Department, the Larry M. Gronewold America Legion of Donahue, and UAW Local 281.

His hobbies were watching sports and spending time with his family.

Survivors include a daughter, Kendra Mueller, DeWitt; a son, Keaton (Shalyn) Mueller, DeWitt; a granddaughter, Lincoln; and his siblings, Kay (Lynn) Ihde, Kathy (Wayne) Helle, Sue (Lee) Connell, Bruce (Bonnie) Mueller, Amy Wrightsman, and Heidi (Charles) Berns; and a sister-in-law, Mary Mueller.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Craig.
