Obituary: Delmyr Harrison

A memorial service for Delmyr Harrison, 92, of Long Grove, will be held at a later date at Park View Lutheran Church. Private burial will be at a later date in Rockton Cemetery, Rockton, Ill.

Mr. Harrison died Monday, July 29, 2019, at Davenport Lutheran Home.

Delmyr Harrison was born April 14, 1927, in Baraboo, Wis., the son of Foster and Iva (Webster) Harrison.

He served in the U.S. Navy for two years during World War II.

He married Esther Jaschek on May 19, 1951, in Beloit, Wis.

He worked for National Tea Company, Randalls, and Easter Foods before retiring in 1993. He and his wife also owned and operated Dew Kist Acres Strawberries for 30 years.

He was a member of Park View Lutheran Church, and previously a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport.

His hobbies were gardening and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judy (Philip) Specht, Davenport; a son, Gregg Harrison, Willis, Texas; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gayla Smith, a sister, and a brother.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport, or to Park View Lutheran Church.
