Obituary: David Schnorrenberg

David Mark Schnorrenberg, 82, of Park View, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, surrounded by his family.

Memorial services to celebrate his life will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. His family will greet friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  A private burial will take place at the Rock Island National Cemetery with military honors.

David was born on Aug. 11, 1942, in Cassville, Wis., to Grace (Knotwell) and Cecil Schnorrenberg.  He proudly served our country in the Navy from 1960 until 1963.  David worked as a salesman for Bowe Machine Company in Bettendorf and for Sierra International Machinery based in Bakersfield, Calif. 

David enjoyed playing softball and was on a traveling team, “Mr. B’s” until he was in his 40s.  He co-founded and coached the North Scott Rebels (a traveling youth baseball team).  David also enjoyed playing golf, bowling, hunting, and fishing, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Nancy; children and their spouses: David (Missy) Schnorrenberg, Angela Quinn, and Derek (Sarah) Schnorrenberg; nine grandchildren; a great-grandson; sisters: Donna Justman, Diann Brown, Gail Hon, Kay Wood, Linda Lanphier, and Janet (Paul) Udelhoven; a brother, John Schnorrenberg; several nieces and nephews; and a special caretaker, his visiting nurse, Mary Pillard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his in-laws, Merlyn Justman, Richard Brown, Dick Hon, Keith Wood, and Bill Lanphier.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or Shriners Hospital for Children.
