A Celebration of Life for Burl Freeman Johnson, 43, of Ogallala, Neb., will be held Friday, July 22, from 3-7 p.m. at Scott County Park, Hickory Hills Shelter. All family and friends are invited to attend.
He died April 22, 2022, in Casper, Wyo.
Burl was born April 29, 1978, to Donna (Swarts) and Burl Johnson in Iowa City. He graduated from North Scott High School.
He leaves a big hole in the hearts of his family and friends. Always entertained by his stories and hilarious sense of humor. A person who is always ready to help others. A good son, loving big brother, and a great friend.
He is a talented tattoo artist, incredible at drawing, enjoyed working on cars, and a diehard Slayer fan.
He is survived by his mother, Donna Real; father, Burl D. Johnson; sister Wanda Real (Mitch); brother, Brian Johnson; and grandfather, Boyd Swarts. He will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, niece and nephew.
Burl is now joining his stepfather, Mike Real; grandmother, Martha Swarts; and cousins, Julie Swarts and Bobby Johnson.
