Obituary: Anna Snyder

A private funeral service was held for Anna Isabel Snyder, 96, of Davenport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. A public celebration will be held at a later date. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Snyder died Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Manor Care.

Anna Altmann was born June 17, 1923, in Pleasant Prairie, Iowa, the daughter of George and Mable (Teitsch) Altmann.

She married Delmar Snyder on June 29, 1946, in Davenport. He preceded her in death.

Prior to her retirement, she worked at various companies in the Quad Cities, including the Rock Island Container Corporation. She retired from managing the cafeteria at JB Young Junior High School in 1980.

She was a member of King’s Daughters and the Anne Ken Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America.

Her hobbies were baking, cooking, crocheting, knitting, sewing, gardening, and teaching and playing cards.

Survivors include her daughter, Luanne Field, Bettendorf; her daughter-in-law, Christine Snyder, LeClaire; her grandchildren, Matthew (Sabrina) Snyder, Kelly (Gary) Aharrah; and Nick Corbin (fiancée Chasity); her sisters, Eunice Cawiezell and Bernice Lobdell; and her brothers, Harvey (Katie) Altmann and Kenneth Altmann.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jack; a granddaughter, Amy; a son-in-law, Greg; and her sisters, Blanche Secrist, Elizabeth Geurink and Irma Rushing.
