New owner has plans for old Princeton hotel site

DeWitt investor Dennis Campbell said he’s considering development options for the old Princeton Hotel, a three-story, mostly vacant building he bought in April for $130,000.

Campbell said he has no firm plans, but expects renovation will be impossible.

“There will be something there at some point in time, but probably it won’t be in that structure,” he told The NSP. He said that might include a new building with first-floor retail business, and condos or apartments on upper floors.

The property also includes riverfront access across River Drive.

“We are looking forward to being an active participant in the community, and whatever we end up doing with the property, we want it to be a positive contribution to the economic and aesthetic well-being of the Princeton community,” he said.
