Jackie Spain to mark 80th birthday with open house

Jacqueline (Jackie) Spain of Lost Nation will celebrate her 80th birthday.

She was born Nov. 17, 1941, eldest daughter of Vincent “Babe” and Gladys (Thiel) Sheridan.

She married Darrell R. Spain July 16, 1966, at St. Ann’s Church, Long Grove. Darrell died Aug. 4, 2015.

Jackie, a 1960 graduate of St. Joseph High School, had a bookkeeper career: 1960-1969 Wagener Ford Sales; 1969-1985 Accent Homes. She sorted seed corn 17 seasons for Cargill, Mycogen and Remington Seed.

She is the mother of Vincent (Stephanie) Spain. He grandchildren are Alexis (Kevin) Schneider, Spencer Spain and Cole Spain. A great-grandson is expected in December.
